A Glamorous Makeover
Glamorous Birmingham (Formerly Glamorous Cabaret Bar), Hurst Street Birmingham will undergo a full venue transformation, with efforts culminating in the big reveal on 30th April 2017 with special guest The Vivienne – The UK Ambassador for RuPaul’s drag race.
Glamorous has always been at the heart of Birmingham’s gay community, throughout its various guises including ‘The Windmill’ and ‘Partners’ and in December 2015 was taken over by local businessmen Matthew Eason & Sam Hibbert who are ready to continue giving their time, money and effort for 2017 and beyond. The makeover will entail a large sum of money being spent in order to bring it up to date and to appeal to today’s market, whilst still retaining the essence of what Glamorous is to Birmingham’s gay community.
Matthew Eason, venue owner said “We are pleased to announce the makeover of Glamorous. The venue has been open for several decades under many different names and Sam & myself are proud to give it a fresh one for 2017. We are giving it everything it possibly needs to ensure that it stands the test of time and is still here in decades to come.”
Work commences late April and will finish with the big reveal on Bank Holiday Sunday, 30th April 2017, with RuPaul’s Drag Race’s UK Ambassador The Vivienne appearing to officially launch the all new Glamorous Birmingham. The Vivienne is the UK’s first ever Ambassador to RuPaul’s Drag race, winning the title at a star-studded event which was judged by Katie Price, Jonathan Ross and no other than RuPaul herself and Glamorous are pleased to have her ready to reveal its great makeover.
